I think this may actually be my last LiveJournal entry. Now I've made such a statement I can't help but feel a huge urge to type something profound here, but I'm not much for profound textual writings, which funnily enough is likely the reason for my lack of entries these past few months. Am I babbling? I think in my absense I have actually forgotten how to blog.
I love this camera. I got it months ago but within 2 weeks of owning it I managed to somehow break it. After clearing out my room, I found it buried under some art books, I changed the film and it seems to be working fine now so I took it to Dublin with me. Oh yeah, I went to Dublin. I forgot to share due to the neglect of LiveJournal I've been experiencing recently, crunchcandy and I endured a weekend of dream machines, falling down stairs, meeting Canadian gay rugby players and finding jesus and creepy window pigs - I had a blast. Thank you for the invite Camilla.
I'm really pretty excited about this project of mine, with some Alice in Wonderland footage I captured last summer I have made a series of sinister clips. It feels as though I have filmed Alice's demise - which makes me unusually happy. I started out purely wanting to create a work with bright, hazed colours and closely cropped images with scan lines, but there's a lot more to the end result than that, and I'm really proud of it.
